June brings the dry-season show at the start of high-season pricing. Days are mild, nights cold, and the lakeshore grassland gets steadily busier.
Weather
Dry and cool on the model normals. Rhino Safari Camp says nights in June and July can drop to around 5°C, so pack warm layers for early boats and open vehicles.
On the thirty-year model normals June averages 22.8°C by day and 12.3°C at night, with 4 mm of rain over 1 wet day.
Game
As pools inland dry, elephant, buffalo and the antelope move toward the lake and the springs. It is the start of the park's best months.

Check the Zambezi River Authority's current Lake Kariba reading before you go: on 22 September 2026 the lake stood at 481.13 m, 40.89% of usable storage, far higher than a year earlier, and the level shapes the lakeshore grassland where most of the game is. We have no sourced month-by-month lake cycle, so we do not predict one.
